The funding was awarded at the programme's Demo Day on September 24, 2026. Quotify founder Wanji Maluba was among five women entrepreneurs selected from a final group of 10 founders. Each winner received US$10,000, taking the total funding awarded to US$50,000.

The programme was implemented by BongoHive in partnership with the Standard Chartered Foundation and Village Capital. The funding does not require the startups to give up equity in their businesses.

Quotify Targets Zambia's Construction Data Gap

Maluba, a Quantity Surveyor, started Quotify after identifying difficulties around accessing current construction pricing information.

Construction professionals in Zambia can rely on spreadsheets, older price information and supplier contacts when preparing estimates and procurement plans. Quotify is being developed as a centralised platform where users can access structured construction cost information.

The platform is aimed at contractors, quantity surveyors, consultants, developers, procurement professionals and government agencies. Its data covers construction material prices and supplier information, with the company working towards expanding the type of cost information available to users.

Quotify has already developed a functional prototype and worked with organisations including the Zambia Institute of Quantity Surveyors, the Association of Building and Civil Engineering Contractors and the Zambia Public Procurement Authority.

The company is also developing a QS Service Desk with the Zambia Institute of Quantity Surveyors. The service is intended to give smaller contractors access to professional quantity-surveying support for tasks such as material schedules, quantity take-offs, bills of quantities and pricing.

From Accelerator to Funding

Quotify was one of 20 women-led businesses initially selected for the Women in Tech Zambia 2026 programme. After the boot camp, 10 founders moved into the accelerator phase.

Over 12 weeks, the founders worked on customer discovery, business models, financial management, growth strategy, technology, impact measurement and fundraising preparation.

Quotify's Maluba also emerged as a winner during one of the programme's Pitchback sessions, where founders worked on their fundraising plans and capital requirements.

The final US$10,000 award gives Quotify funding to continue developing its platform without giving up ownership.

The other four businesses receiving funding were Techroots IT Solutions Zambia, Likumi Financial Services, Pluntum and Pocket Academy by Yellow Ray Digital. Together, the five companies received US$50,000.

Quotify's longer-term ambition is to build construction pricing intelligence that can eventually serve markets beyond Zambia. For now, the company is focused on expanding its local data, supplier network and tools for construction professionals.
