X (Twitter) launching video and voice calls

X (formerly known as Twitter), is reportedly started rolling out audio and video calls.

A selected number of users of the social media platform were recently greeted with a pop-up notification that was revealing that the feature is already available. Included on the notification are instructions on managing which users can call them and changing other settings relating to the feature.

In order for people to stop calling you on the platform, users with the feature available can navigate to their direct messages (DMs) tab and tap the gear icon, according to Engadget. The settings list will also be inclusive of a toggle to enable or disable audio and video calling, if enabled.

The feature will also be allowing users choose to only allow people in their address book, those they follow, or Twitter/X verified users to call them.

Twitter/X CEO Linda Yaccarino previously told CNBC that users on the platform would be able to make “video chat calls” without providing their phone numbers.
