Egyptian manufacturing startup Simplex has opened a new $50 million manufacturing facility in 10th of Ramadan City, expanding its production capacity as it seeks to grow exports and strengthen its presence in regional markets.

The new facility covers 40,000 square metres and will manufacture Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines used across industrial production. Commercial manufacturing officially began during the inauguration ceremony, where the company’s latest production line received the “Proudly Made in Egypt” label. The expansion is part of Simplex’s broader growth strategy as demand for locally manufactured industrial equipment continues to increase across the region.

Expanding Regional Presence

Alongside the facility’s opening, Simplex announced new partnership and agency agreements in Jordan and Kuwait, extending the company’s distribution network for Egyptian-made engineering products across the Middle East. The company also laid the foundation stone for a third manufacturing plant, signalling further investment in expanding production capacity.

Founder and Chairman Ahmed Shaaban said the company has grown from a university graduation project into a manufacturer exporting industrial equipment to 34 countries.

Co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer Mohamed Mansour said the additional production capacity will help the company meet growing demand while supporting its ambition to become a larger player in the global CNC manufacturing industry.

Simplex currently employs more than 400 engineers, technicians and administrative staff and serves more than 4,500 customers across domestic and international markets. The company has recorded cumulative sales exceeding $100 million. The expansion is expected to create more than 1,000 direct jobs and over 10,000 indirect employment opportunities.

Its CNC machinery and industrial solutions are exported to 34 countries across Africa, Europe and the Middle East. Exports currently account for about 15% of production, with the additional manufacturing capacity expected to support further international growth.
