Amazon.com Inc. is venturing into the competitive field of generative artificial intelligence, unveiling the Titan Image Generator tool at its re:Invent conference.

AWS, the company’s cloud services arm, showcased various images of iguanas created by the tool, which is now available in preview. While AWS dominates in computing power and data storage, it faces competition from Microsoft-backed OpenAI and Google in deploying products based on large language models like ChatGPT.

Amazon’s Titan line, introduced in April, now includes models designed for cost-effective text generation. The company is also collaborating with AI startup Anthropic and offers models like Claude and an updated Llama version from Meta Platforms Inc.

In addition, Amazon introduced Q, a business-focused chatbot that extracts insights from corporate data, though the specific models it utilizes remain undisclosed.
