Epson EcoTank L6370 Review - Sharp Photos, Low Running Costs and Desk-Friendly Design for Small Offices

The Epson EcoTank L6370 is a compact A4 all-in-one ink tank printer built for small offices and home businesses that need reliable document output alongside high-quality colour prints for presentations and photographs. It combines automatic duplex printing, a 30-sheet automatic document feeder, and front-accessible ink tanks in a footprint that fits easily on a desk.

Easy to Use Compact Office Printer

The design keeps everyday tasks simple. The automatic document feeder handles stacks of pages for scanning and copying without manual intervention, which speeds up multi-page jobs. The control panel, with its colour LCD screen and keypad, lets users connect to Wi-Fi, adjust settings, and start jobs without a computer. Ink tanks sit at the front for easy access; the keyed bottles fill them with minimal mess.

The output tray opens automatically when printing begins, so finished pages are ready to collect without extra steps. These practical touches suit busy environments where people switch between tasks.

Quality Print Outputs

Print quality stands out, especially for photographs and presentation material. The PrecisionCore printhead delivers up to 4,800 x 1,200 dpi with variable droplet sizes down to 3.3 pl. Pigment black ink produces sharp, water-resistant text that looks professional on plain paper, while dye-based colour inks render smooth gradients and vivid detail on photo paper.

Borderless printing is available up to A4. In practice, colour photographs emerge with clear detail and natural tones, and graphics in presentations hold up well under normal viewing conditions. Text remains crisp even at smaller sizes.

Decent Printing Speeds

Performance matches the needs of a small team. Draft speeds reach 35 pages per minute in black and 23 in colour, while ISO speeds settle at 18 pages per minute black and 9 colour. First-page-out times are roughly 8.5 seconds for black and 13.5 seconds for colour.

Automatic duplex printing runs at lower speeds but saves paper on reports and handouts. The 250-sheet input tray and 30-sheet output capacity handle typical daily volumes, and the recommended monthly volume sits around 1,600 pages with a maximum duty cycle of about 10,000. Connectivity covers USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and Wi-Fi Direct, plus support for AirPrint, Mopria, and the Epson Smart Panel app for mobile printing and monitoring.

Cost Efficient Printing a Plus

Running costs form a major part of the value. Replacement ink bottles (typically the 001 or 101 series depending on region) are rated for about 8,500 black pages and 6,500 composite colour pages. Based on current South African retail pricing for genuine bottles, normal black text pages cost roughly R0.04 to R0.05 each, while standard colour pages with mixed text and graphics fall in the region of R0.15 to R0.25.

High-resolution or photo-mode prints use more ink and cost more, typically several times the normal colour rate depending on coverage and paper, but remain far below the cost of equivalent cartridge-based printing. The printer ships with a substantial supply of ink, often enough for thousands of pages before the first refill.

Current retail prices in South Africa range from about R6,200 to R9,000, with many retailers offering the unit around R6,999 on promotion. The higher-end list price sits closer to R8,000–R9,000. Given the feature set and low ongoing ink cost, the machine represents strong value for small businesses that print both documents and colour material regularly.

Good Rating for a Compact Quality Printer

The L6370 suits small businesses that need a single compact machine for documents, copies, scans, and occasional high-quality colour work. Its combination of low running costs, duplex automation, and strong photo output makes it a practical desktop choice where cartridge printers would prove more expensive over time. Actual yields and costs vary with print content, paper, and settings.
