Moz Startup Hub will begin its 2026 Incubation and Entrepreneurship programme on 9 November, bringing entrepreneurs and startup teams into a four-week development programme focused on validating business ideas and preparing solutions for the market.

The programme will run until 4 December under the capacity-building activities of the MDI TecHub initiative. It targets entrepreneurs, startups and teams looking to strengthen their business models, assess their products and establish more sustainable operations.

Startup assessment and business model development

The programme will help participants examine where their businesses stand, identify weaknesses and determine which areas need attention before they pursue further growth.

Moz Startup Hub has made two assessment tools available to support this process. The first, called Diagnóstico, helps founders identify their startup's development stage, from opportunity identification and problem-solution fit to product-market fit. It then provides a prioritised action plan based on the assessment.

The second tool, MUSA, evaluates key aspects of a business, including problem definition, the proposed solution, revenue generation, automation and scalability. It is intended to help founders understand whether their business has the characteristics of a startup capable of growing beyond its initial market.

These tools give participants a structured way to examine their business models and identify gaps that could affect their ability to attract customers, generate revenue or expand operations.

Hybrid programme connects founders with support

The four-week programme will combine in-person activities in Maputo with online participation, allowing entrepreneurs to take part through a hybrid format.

Beyond business model development, the initiative is designed to connect participants with mentors and ecosystem partners who can provide guidance as they refine their solutions and prepare for the market.

The initiative forms part of MDI TecHub's broader work to connect entrepreneurs with training, competitions, business development support and other opportunities. Its wider platform also includes hackathons, a business plan competition and a marketplace where organisations can present challenges for startups to address.

Through Diagnóstico and MUSA, participating founders will be able to assess their business models, identify gaps in areas such as revenue generation and scalability, and prioritise the changes needed to strengthen their products.
