Chinese mobile telephone maker, HUAWEI’s latest offering is wreaking havoc after unveiling its latest product, the HUAWEI Mate50 Pro.
Launched towards the end of January 2023, last week to be precise, the mobile telephone maker has attracted massive interest from tech and gadget lovers.
The device is already available in South Africa and with great consumer interest and excitement, pre-orders of the HUAWEI Mate50 Pro have seen great success.
Mobile telephone reviewers are giving the phone all the praise but there are some challenges that come with operating in South Africa.
The gadget boasts an ultimate Ultra Aperture XMAGE camera and it is now available for purchase in selected South African retail stores including HUAWEI online store.
As per the specifications, BusinessTech Africa understands that the highly awaited flagship phone from HUAWEI brings a stunning new design, Ultra Aperture XMAGE Camera, and raises the bar for smartphone performance.
The HUAWEI Mate50 Pro comes in two different types of rear cover, glass, and vegan leather. The glass cover is available in two colours, Silver and Black, while the vegan leather version comes in Orange.
The phone is seen as a product that introduces a new era of mobile photography and that is how Chinese mobile phone manufacturer is marketing the Mate50 Pro.
Looking at the camera features, the mobile device comes with an Ultra Aperture XMAGE Camera, F1.4 Ultra-large Aperture, Adjustable Physical Aperture of 10 sizes, and Super Night Mode, making it one of the best cell phone cameras.
It comes with three lenses on the back and when combined can give you the most extraordinary images and videos.
The 6.74 OLED display screen is also big enough for everyday viewing, yet small enough to hold in one hand.
However, a tech guru believes the fact that it is enabled to operate on a 5G network, may be a challenge for some South Africans.
Valued at R25 000 and with 5G not available everywhere in South Africa, this expert is of the view that it may hamper sales.
“There’s not 5G everywhere could be one of the defensive arguments someone could say about it. Does everybody use all the speed available to them of the latest and greatest smartphone? It’s not entirely sure, but they definitely use the camera,” said Toby Shapshak, chief at Stuff Studios according to CapeTalk.
“What’s really impressive is it has a 66 fast watt. You can really charge this phone quickly and that’s part of what it is, the overall experience.
“There’s been a lot of talk about Huawei not having the Google Play Store on it. They’ve overcome it. they’ve done an impressive job with their app gallery.”
