According to Analytico’s quarterly customer satisfaction study, Cool Ideas, Afrihost, and Airmobile are the best Internet service providers (ISPs) in South Africa.

On the other end of the spectrum, Mweb, Cell C, and Vodacom had the lowest average customer satisfaction ratings.

Analytico is a research firm that offers market research and network intelligence studies on the South African IT and telecoms industries.

Its quarterly ISP rankings report is based on customer satisfaction ratings gathered via the MyBroadband Speedtest app between October 1 and December 31, 2022.

Cool Ideas topped the rankings among big ISPs in Q4 2022, with an average customer satisfaction rating of 85.6%. It was also the only Internet service provider with a rating higher than 80%.

It should be emphasised that Cool Ideas exclusively provides fibre services, which is to its advantage. Customers with fibre connections were far happier with their ISP than LTE or DSL users.

Mweb and Vodacom were the biggest losers in Q4 2022. Mweb fell to last place, while Vodacom fell behind Telkom and Rain.

It is worth noting that Vodacom was placed lower than Rain and Telkom, both of which are significant competitors in the fixed-LTE and 5G industries.
