According to 9To5Google, Google has planned a series of shutdown messages for the Street View app.
The company recommends that users migrate to Google Maps or Street View Studio because the Street View app will be discontinued on March 31, 2023.
“Street View App is going away and support will end March 21, 2023,” the company was quoted as saying in the report.
“To publish your own 360 video, switch to Street View Studio. To view Street View and add Photo Spheres, use Google Maps.”
According to the report, Street View allows users to easily obtain a 360-degree view of almost any street, making it ideal for researching potential vacation destinations or simply taking a leisurely tour of the world from the comfort of their own home.
Previously, Google Maps brought back the ‘Street View’ experience to India in order to help people navigate and explore places more visually and accurately.
The service was suspended by the Indian government more than a decade ago due to a lack of required security clearances.
