El Kope steps in as full-time Cell C CFO

El Kope, who was previously the acting chief financial officer (CFO) at Cell C, the mobile operator that has been currently facing some challenges, has been officially appointed to the position and has also taken on the role of executive director on the board.

Kope is a chartered accountant and she initially joined Cell C in September 2022 as the head of financial planning and analysis. She assumed the position of acting CFO in August of the following year following the resignation of Lerato Pule.

Having garnered experience at multinational corporations such as Coca-Cola Africa, South African Breweries, and DHL, Kope’s official appointment as CFO comes after demonstrating strong leadership, strategic foresight, and financial acumen during her tenure as the acting CFO.

Cell C praised Kope for her prompt actions, which significantly improved governance, stabilized the finance department, and strengthened relationships with crucial stakeholders. The company believes that under Kope’s leadership, Cell C achieved key milestones, enhancing governance structures and implementing methodologies that led to revenue improvement.
