Ebenezer Sasu Builds Drone and Ground Logistics Business in Ghana

Ghanaian aerospace engineer and entrepreneur Ebenezer Sasu founded Wingxtra Aerospace in 2019 to provide on-demand logistics and delivery services using drones and ground transportation. The company combines different delivery modes to address the logistics challenges faced by businesses and customers in African cities. Its system determines the most suitable transport option based on factors including parcel size, delivery distance, urgency and traffic conditions.

For smaller parcels and urgent deliveries, Wingxtra uses drones. Electric bicycles, motorcycles and vans are deployed when ground transportation is more practical for the delivery.

Wingxtra Combines Drones With Ground Transport

Wingxtra's delivery model is built around selecting the appropriate transport method for each order. The system assesses the requirements of a delivery and automatically determines whether a drone or ground vehicle should handle the shipment.

This approach allows the company to use drones where their speed provides an advantage while relying on conventional transport for deliveries that require larger vehicles or different operating conditions.

Wingxtra has also developed a tracking and dispatch platform to support its operations. The system monitors vehicle locations and availability, drone status and order specifications when determining delivery routes.

Customers, merchants and management teams can also track deliveries in real time. The platform provides visibility into a parcel's journey and its estimated arrival time.

From Aerospace Engineering to Entrepreneurship

Sasu's background in aerospace engineering has shaped his work in both logistics and drone technology.

He holds a bachelor's degree in aeronautical and aerospace engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana.

He began his professional career in 2019 as an intern with the communications squadron of the Ghana Air Force. Between 2022 and 2023, he worked as an aerospace engineer at Proforce, a Nigerian manufacturer specialising in armoured vehicles and defence solutions.

His experience in aerospace engineering has since extended into the development of commercial drone applications and other aerial technologies.

Expanding Into Drone Development

In 2025, Sasu expanded his technology activities by co-founding OrcaDynamics, a company focused on drone design and aerial solutions.

OrcaDynamics uses 3D modelling and printing in the development of its aircraft. The company also enables users to assemble and operate their own aircraft, extending Sasu's work beyond logistics into drone development and manufacturing.

The two ventures give Sasu a broader platform across logistics, aerospace engineering and unmanned aerial technology, with Wingxtra focused on delivery services and OrcaDynamics working on the underlying aerial technologies.
