Later this month, DStv will receive Qwest TV, a new music-focused channel.
In a tweet on Thursday, the satellite TV broadcaster confirmed the channel’s arrival.
Qwest TV predominantly includes R&B, soul, and jazz music chosen by Quincy Jones, a prominent American record producer and musician, and guest curators.
The channel bills itself as a “hand-picked treasure trove of concerts, documentaries, interviews and archive films”.
According to its website, its broadcasted concerts include funk, hip-hop, rock, folk, indie, DJ sets, electronic music, classical, ballet, opera, and global music in addition to soul and jazz.

Qwest TV also offers its own internet streaming service, Qwest TV+, for $4.99 per month.
Three of its live TV stations are also free on a variety of platforms for viewers in countries other than South Africa.
These may be seen on platforms like as Plex, Rakuten TV, the Roku channel, and smart TVs from LG, Samsung, and TCL, among others.
Qwest TV will debut on DStv on January 20, 2023, on channel 330.
According to DStv’s website, the new channel would be available only on the more costly Compact Plus and Premium bundles.
Qwest TV is the first channel to be added to DStv in 2023.
It withdrew eight stations, including four from e-TV, and added seven others, including BBC UKTV and a Dreamworks channel, last year.
