Dar Blockchain and its partners have launched a Web3 incubation programme to help 18 selected ventures turn blockchain prototypes into businesses ready to attract investors. The programme runs from October 2026 to January 2027, with the organisers targeting at least five seed-ready companies by January.
Announced on October 21, the initiative brings together The Hashgraph Association, Wiki Startup and UGFS North Africa, with blockchain development and cybersecurity company Softstack joining as a security partner.
The programme follows the Hedera Africa Hackathon, which concluded in April 2026 with more than 13,000 developers participating, over 1,300 project submissions and more than 45,000 people reached through education and certification activities. The hackathon offered a US$1 million prize pool, with part of the funding allocated to winning teams now earmarked for continued incubation support.
The new programme will use that support for product development, technical implementation, market validation and business execution.
Technical and commercial support
Participating teams will work through four sprints and five jury-assessed milestone gates. The programme includes 21 workshops, individual execution roadmaps, expert guidance and introductions to potential investors and ecosystem partners.
Wiki Startup will help founders structure their businesses, develop go-to-market strategies and improve execution. UGFS North Africa will focus on investment readiness and connections to potential financing opportunities.
Softstack will provide cybersecurity support, alongside artificial intelligence credits, product discounts and other technology deals. The technical programme will also help teams strengthen software architecture, improve security and deploy production-ready products on the Hedera network.
These activities are intended to help founders address challenges that extend beyond building a working prototype, including customer demand, product security and the commercial requirements investors assess before committing capital.
Five startups targeted for seed readiness
The organisers aim to have at least five ventures ready for seed investment by January 2027. By the programme’s third milestone gate, they also want more than 60% of participating ventures to have secured signed letters of intent or launched active pilot projects.
Dar Blockchain co-founder Jaafar Saied said the programme was designed to continue supporting founders after hackathon winners are announced, helping them develop investable businesses through defined milestones and technical assistance.
The selected ventures include founders from Nigeria, Egypt, India, Brazil, the United States and other markets, giving the programme an international reach.
Investor Demo Day is scheduled for the week of January 18, 2027, when participating teams will have an opportunity to present their progress and businesses to potential investors.
