The new 2025 X70 will be available in four models, rather than six like its previous sibling cars. The available models are Standard, Executive, Executive AWD and Premium.

The X70 has gone through changes in its exterior and interior. The facelift model showcases a front grille of the car and has the songket-inspired Infinite Weave design like the Proton X90 and the Proton S70. It has been updated with thinner full-LED headlights, a redesigned front, and a new hood. The back part of the SUV also comes with a new bumper, while the taillights remain unchanged.

The Proton X70 has a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine that delivers a maximum power of 177PS at 5,500rpm and a torque of 255N.m at 1,500rpm. The engine benefits from improved combustion efficiency, showing an improvement in cleaner emission and performance. Other changes have been made to improve the noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) at low speeds, contributing to a quieter driving experience.

The X70’s infotainment system has been upgraded with a new 12.3-inch screen featuring a resolution of 1920 x 720. It is powered by a dual quad-core processer with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The Proton Link app allows remote controlling of the engine, windows, locks, and air conditioning settings from a distance.

The voice command system called Hi Proton, controls the windows, sunroof, air conditioning, navigation, and music streaming. There are 3 USB Type-A ports and 2 USB Type-C ports available for connectivity, and the infotainment system now includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Proton has added a new colour option which is called Marine Blue to the existing colours which include Ruby Red, Snow White, Armour Silver, and Jet Grey.
