ASSET MANAGER - Solar Portfolio

Position summary Exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented Asset Manager to join a US solar company, working remotely out of SA. Purpose - monitor the performance of operating solar assets, maintain reliable portfolio records, identify exceptions, and coordinate issues to the field of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) function for investigation and resolution. The role combines data review, analytics, reporting, and disciplined administration. It does not perform field maintenance. Role boundary: The Asset Manager identifies, records, tracks, and reports on asset issues. The Journeyman Electrician / Field Operations & Maintenance role investigates and resolves assigned issues in the field. The Asset Manager maintains the documented issue trail through closure.

Essential duties - Portfolio monitoring and analysis • Monitor system performance and alerts across the assigned O&M portfolio using approved monitoring platforms and company systems. • Review production and performance data, identify underperformance or abnormal operating conditions, and document exceptions. • Distinguish between issues requiring continued observation, data validation, remote follow-up or field investigation. • Escalate sustained underperformance, recurring equipment failure and other defined exceptions to operations leadership. • Maintain a clear record of alarms, findings, assigned actions and resolution status. Essential duties - Service-ticket coordination • Create or update service tickets when monitoring or customer information indicates a potential issue. • Provide the field O&M resource with relevant site details, alert history, available performance information and documentation needed for investigation. • Track open tickets, requested follow-up, field findings, parts needs, warranty actions and closeout evidence. • Confirm that completed work is reflected in the asset record and that unresolved items are escalated. • Coordinate with internal teams and service providers without authorizing work outside assigned authority. Essential duties - Asset records and document control • Maintain the equipment serial and asset register, warranty log, monitoring alert log, service records and O&M reference documents. • Receive and review post-closeout information needed to establish an operating asset record, including available as-builts, warranties, equipment information and commissioning documentation. • Keep client and site records organized, current and traceable.

REPORTS TO: VP Operations (USA) No direct reports initially. Planning on recruiting a Journeyman Electrician / Field Operations & Maintenance person in the new year.
