In a strategic move to enhance customer convenience and boost engagement, First National Bank (FNB) has once again reduced the price of car licence disc renewals within its banking app.
This marks the second reduction in a matter of months, with the price dropping from the already-reduced R99 to a more economical R69. To sweeten the deal, the bank is also providing R99 in eBucks for utilizing the service in specific instances, effectively making the renewal process practically free for users. Additionally, customers have the option to renew their licence discs using accumulated eBucks rewards.
FNB has expressed its commitment to providing value to its customers, stating, “The bank has now further reduced the combined service and delivery fee to R69 for a promotional time period.” However, the specific duration of this promotional period has not been disclosed. TechCentral has reached out to FNB for clarification on this matter.
The financial institution appears to be leveraging this service to encourage customers to explore other offerings within its portfolio, particularly its vehicle insurance product. FNB entices users by offering a compelling incentive: “If you get a no-obligation insurance quote… and renew your licence disc on the FNB app, you get R99 back in eBucks.”
This service is a collaborative effort between FNB and the Road Traffic Management Corporation, streamlining the renewal process by eliminating paperwork, provided that the bank client is the registered owner of the vehicle.
Over the past 12 months, FNB reports having successfully completed 107,000 licence disc renewals through its platform. The bank’s ongoing efforts to enhance its digital services and provide financial benefits are indicative of its commitment to meeting the evolving needs of its customer base. As customers seek streamlined and cost-effective solutions, FNB’s initiatives in the realm of licence disc renewals exemplify a customer-centric approach to banking in the digital age.
