4 December 2025 – Business tech Africa today announces the category finalists for the second Business Tech Africa Tech Innovation Awards. This year’s accolade is set to build on the inaugural awards introduced by Business Tech Africa last year, where new fintech Tipped, took overall top honours.
This year there were a few changes to the categories with the best Software or IT Tech innovation, and the Best Tech Innovation category being added, while the Agri-tech and Employment-tech categories were dropped as categories.
These awards while not a glamorous high profile event was intended to recognise the many amazing tech innovators who are doing amazing things and disrupting markets while growing employment and delivering better quality products and services to the African business environment.
Daisy Mulenga, Business Tech Africa Publisher comments that “The future of Tech in Africa is on the rise and it’s so exciting to see these solutions born from Africa servicing millions of Africans”. “From the global and local investment pouring into tech startups by Venture Capitalist, growth is inevitable”. “Our role is to amplify these start-ups on a global platform and to support their growth and that is what the Awards are meant to achieve”.
It was another agonising process to try and separate the finalists from the rest of the field”, said Greg Stewart, Editor of Business Tech Africa. “We congratulate all the finalists and believe that African business is resurgent despite multiple challenges, and these innovators are an inspiration for future generations of business entrepreneurs”, says Stewart.
Business Tech Africa will be announcing the category and overall winner next week Monday, 8 December 2025.
