The WeBuyCars Dome opened its doors to the public on 14 December 2021, making South Africa home to the largest used vehicle showroom on the continent.
According to the pre-owned vehicle giant, the “super-showroom” can hold up to 1,500 vehicles at a time, making it the largest in Africa.
Following the success of the move, WeBuyCars will hold an official grand opening on 23 March 2022.
According to pictures from news outlets that were present, the showroom is massive, with the entirety of the ground floor and a second mezzanine level packed with second-hand vehicles, including cars, boats, caravans, and motorcycles.
The most expensive vehicle on offer is a 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 V6 3.5T ZX with 11,000km on the clock, available for R1,992,900.
The oldest vehicle on the showroom floor at the WeBuyCars Dome — a 4.2-litre 1969 Jaguar E-Type — is the second most expensive.
Valued at R1,580,900, the E-Type has 125,000km on the clock and can be financed from R26,620 per month.
The venue also has an onsite eatery — the We Cafe — and a dedicated room to store vehicle keys.
WeBuyCars purchased the Ticketpro Dome in July 2021, with intentions of relaunching it as a “super-showroom”.
WeBuyCars CEO Faan van der Walt said the purchase of the venue would allow them to increase their presence in the Johannesburg area.
“Apart from cementing our presence in northern Johannesburg, we are confident this growth path will have a positive impact on the economy,” said Van der Walt.
The WeBuyCars Dome is the fifth addition to the company’s Gauteng branches and its ninth in total.
