Schneider Electric Kenya Empowers Next-Gen Sustainable Energy Leaders

Schneider Electric Kenya has reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing the future generation of sustainable energy leaders through its innovative Scholar Grid Challenge initiative.

The Scholar Grid Challenge, hosted at PC Kinyanjui Technical Training Institute, served as a platform for trainees to showcase their ingenuity in designing a 10kVA renewable energy electrification system within a budget of €5000. Two teams engaged in a spirited competition, presenting their innovative solutions to a panel of esteemed jurors, underscoring their dedication to driving transformative change in the renewable energy sector.

At the outset of the competition, trainees were tasked with crafting a concept note and received invaluable guidance from seasoned experts at Schneider Electric. This mentorship not only deepened their understanding of renewable energy systems but also fostered a collaborative environment, bridging theoretical knowledge with practical industry insights.

Commenting on the initiative, Ifeanyi Odoh, Country President at Schneider Electric Kenya, expressed immense pride in the progress achieved through the Scholar Grid Challenge. He lauded the participants for their creativity and dedication, noting that their contributions exemplify the promising future of sustainable energy. Odoh reiterated Schneider Electric’s unwavering commitment to supporting the trainees in their journey towards impactful change.

Nancy Njui, the School Principal at PC Kinyanjui, echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the profound impact of the competition on the trainees. She emphasized that beyond academic rigor, the Scholar Grid Challenge instilled essential skills such as teamwork, critical thinking, and personal growth among the participants.

“We are immensely proud of the unwavering dedication and exceptional effort demonstrated by our trainees throughout this experience. As the competition draws to a close, the victorious team will be bestowed with an additional $5,000 cash prize to further support their future projects, reinforcing Schneider Electric’s commitment to nurturing innovation and excellence in sustainable energy leadership.
