Mitsubishi’s new L200 pick-up truck ready to battle against Ford Ranger

Despite criticism from automobile publications, the all-new Mitsubishi L200 pick-up truck has found its way to the public and leaked to the media.

Various websites are critical of the Japanese carmaker, Mitsubishi, and according to Auto Evolution, the company is not doing great nowadays.

The website says the Japanese automaker was once a household name and one of the biggest in the Asian motor industry but those days are gone.

For example, Auto Evolution reports that the glory days of the sporty Eclipse and Lancer Evolution shenanigans are a thing of the past.

Additionally, Mitsubishi did not garner too many positive reviews of its decision to use the Captur as the ‘new’ ASX. However, the Outlander SUV is doing well while it grows into new and emerging markets.

That factor might help the automaker survive until yet another big asset comes out to work and play.

“That would be the all-new, sixth-generation Mitsubishi L200 (also known as Triton) pickup truck. The latter has been a darling of spy photographers and automotive virtual artists, alike – and for good measure,” Auto Evolution posted.

“Some Mitsubishi pick-up truck prototypes have been spied all the way in America, and although these are not related to Ram’s long-rumored Dakota reintroduction, no one is saying that a new L200/Triton iteration is not coming to the Americas to fight off the mid-size pick-up truck establishment.”

According to the publication, a Youtuber identified as Dimas Ramadhan is the automotive artist behind Digimods Design, he has revealed the next L200/Triton – in CGI.

Ramadhan opted to base the new L200/Triton iteration on the Xpander crossover MPV which is not necessarily poor since the latter even has a more rugged version dubbed Xpander Cross in the real world.

On top of that, the freshly imagined design, especially the rugged yet modern front end, looks set to portray a Mitsubishi model that could fight the American mid-size pickup trucks such as the popular Toyota Tacoma, Ford Ranger, and Nissan Frontier among others.

Despite this revelation by Ramadhan, Mitsubishi is yet to officially confirm the new edition of the pick-up truck.
