Arigo Capital has launched anAble Africa Fund I, its first pan-African investment vehicle, with a target of raising $150 million to invest in businesses across the continent.
The fund was formally launched on August 31, 2026, with a mandate covering all 55 African countries. Arigo Capital said the launch coincided with the United Nations International Day for People of African Descent, reflecting its focus on African entrepreneurship and enterprise development.
The firm is now entering the institutional fundraising and capital-formation stage. It has not disclosed initial commitments, limited partners or a target date for the fund's first or final close.
Fund Targets Businesses With Regional and Global Potential
anAble Africa Fund I will assess investment opportunities across Africa, with Arigo Capital planning to combine a continent-wide mandate with regional market expertise.
The firm said the model will support local sourcing, investment assessment and portfolio management across different African markets. This will require the fund to account for differences in regulation, market conditions, consumer behaviour and access to capital.
The fund is targeting entrepreneurs building businesses that can scale across regional and international markets.
Owen Ruwodo, founder and managing partner of Arigo Capital, said the firm aims to identify and support entrepreneurs capable of building companies with significant economic and competitive impact.
Regional Model to Support Investment Activity
Arigo Capital plans to implement the fund through a phased regional operating model.
The approach is intended to give the investment team greater local knowledge when sourcing and assessing potential investments. It will also support portfolio management once companies receive funding.
The firm has not disclosed the specific regions that will form part of the initial rollout.
It has also not provided details on the sectors it will target, investment stages, individual ticket sizes or ownership levels.
Fundraising Will Determine Deployment Capacity
The $150 million target places fundraising at the centre of the fund's immediate priorities.
Arigo Capital will need to secure commitments from institutional investors and other limited partners before it can deploy capital at the scale outlined in its strategy.
The lack of disclosed initial commitments means the fund's current capital base is not yet clear.
Its first close, once announced, will provide a clearer indication of the amount available for investment and the pace at which Arigo Capital can begin building its portfolio.
Arigo Capital Enters Pan-African Fund Management
The launch marks Arigo Capital's entry into pan-African fund management with a strategy spanning all 55 African countries. The firm is seeking to combine broad geographic coverage with regional investment expertise as it builds its pipeline and fundraising base.
The fund's progress will ultimately depend on its ability to attract institutional capital, identify businesses capable of scaling and establish the local networks needed to operate across diverse markets.
Further details on investors, sectors, investment sizes and the first portfolio companies will provide a clearer picture of how anAble Africa Fund I will translate its pan-African mandate into actual capital deployment.
