Anger and indignation when a video shows white males attacking black boys at a Bloemfontein resort

A video has gone viral on social media showing two black adolescents being attacked by many white males in a pool at Bloemfontein’s Maselspoort Resort and Conference Centre.

According to Twitter user, @Tumii Frost, her family intended to spend the day at Maselspoort Resort and Conference Centre for a pleasant Christmas, when her brothers “were attacked by these grown men because they are apparently not allowed in the pool as it’s reserved for the ‘white people’ here”.

Frost stated that her brothers are 13 and 18 years old.

A white man is seen in the video slapping the 13-year-old, who is then shoved back into the pool as he tries to get up. The guy then seems to attempt to strangle the 18-year-old.

Attempts to break up the fight are made, but it intensifies when the younger teen’s hair is pulled. The video concludes with a guy pulling the older adolescent by the head into the water.

According to Frost, who is also a CUT FM 105.8 radio announcer, a file has been opened with Glen Police, who verified an assault case.

Makalo Mohale, the Free State MEC for Economic, Small Business Development, Tourism, and Environmental Affairs, will meet with the management of Maselspoort Resort and Conference Centre, as well as contact the family and victims.

While some were outraged by the occurrence and asked that the guys be punished, others rushed to the resort’s social media accounts to leave negative feedback.

The resort did not respond to inquiries about the event.
