Algerian Entrepreneur Builds Offline Note-Taking App Notiverse

Algerian artificial intelligence expert and entrepreneur Salah Eddine Makdour founded Notiverse in 2023, developing a mobile application that brings text, audio and image-based notes together in one place.
The application is designed to simplify how users capture and organise information on their smartphones, allowing them to save different types of content without moving between separate applications.
Notiverse uses automation to organise stored information according to factors such as context and creation date. Users can also apply keyword tags and use the platform's search and filtering tools to find previously saved content.

An offline-first approach to personal data

Notiverse is built around an offline architecture, with users' content stored locally on their devices.
The application does not require users to create an account or send their notes to remote servers. This approach gives users direct control over where their information is stored and reduces reliance on cloud-based data storage.
The offline model also positions Notiverse differently from note-taking applications built around synchronisation across cloud accounts and multiple devices.

Makdour expands into education technology

Makdour has also moved into education technology through Syllabri, an artificial intelligence-powered platform he launched in 2025. Syllabri is designed to help students prepare for examinations, extending Makdour's work with AI into the education sector. Alongside his entrepreneurial activities, Makdour works as a software engineer at Dusens Research, an Algerian marketing research and consumer analytics company. Makdour holds a degree in artificial intelligence and data engineering from Algeria's National School of Artificial Intelligence (ENSIA). His involvement in technology and entrepreneurship began while he was a student. In 2022, he founded the ENSIA Tech Community, a scientific club focused on technology and technical development.

He remained involved with the organisation until 2024, taking on several roles during that period, including full-stack developer, human resources director and president.
His work across Notiverse and Syllabri reflects a focus on applying artificial intelligence and software development to everyday productivity and education challenges.
