The Africa Women Innovation & Entrepreneurship Forum (AWIEF2025) will open its doors from 30 to 31 October 2025 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre in South Africa. This event will unite women entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, corporate executives, and development partners from across Africa and the diaspora, fostering high-level dialogue, showcasing innovations, and creating opportunities for collaboration.
Now More Than Ever
Under the theme “Breaking the Barriers: Now More Than Ever,” AWIEF2025 will confront the pressing challenges women face in business, from accessing finance to navigating digital transformation, sustainability, and policy reform. At the same time, the forum celebrates resilience, innovation, and inclusive growth, spotlighting the pivotal role women play in shaping Africa’s business landscape.
Voices from Leaders Across Africa and Beyond
Dr. Fatima Elsheikh, Secretary General of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), emphasized the transformative potential of the forum:
“I’m excited to be part of AWIEF2025 because it’s a powerful platform that amplifies women’s leadership and innovation across Africa. It also offers an incredible opportunity to connect, collaborate, and drive real impact in shaping a more inclusive and prosperous future.”
Hon. Jane Sithole, Deputy Minister of the Department of Small Business Development in South Africa, added
“AWIEF empowers women entrepreneurs and drives inclusive economic growth across Africa. Similarly, it aligns with our mission to support small businesses, foster innovation, and create sustainable opportunities for South African entrepreneurs.”
Two Days of Insight, Inspiration, and Networking
Over two days, AWIEF2025 will feature an engaging program of keynotes, panel discussions, masterclasses, workshops, and B2B networking sessions covering leadership, trade, technology, investment, and policy. Dr. Elsheikh will deliver the opening keynote, while other highlights include sessions on AI and the Future of Work, Mobilizing Capital for Women Entrepreneurs, Africa’s Green Transition, and Harnessing the African Continental Free Trade Area for Intra-African Trade.
The exhibition floor will spotlight innovative SMEs, development organisations, and businesses from across the continent. The forum will further culminate with the prestigious AWIEF Awards & Gala Dinner on 31 October, celebrating outstanding African women entrepreneurs and innovators.
A Global Gathering of Visionaries
AWIEF2025 will host over 70 high-profile speakers and thought leaders from Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas. Participants will gain unique opportunities to exchange insights, forge meaningful relationships, and ignite collaborations that drive economic impact.
Irene Ochem, Founder and CEO of AWIEF, reflected
