
It has been revealed by the Board of Directors at Zenith Bank Plc that Dr. Juliet Ehimuan has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director of the bank, effective from August 29, 2023. This news underlies the bank’s commitment to bringing aboard top-tier talent with diverse and impactful backgrounds.
The news were disclosed through a corporate action filing with the Nigerian Exchange, and the official statement, signed by Company Secretary Michael Osilama Otu, highlights the achievement of Dr Juliet Ehimuan.
The appointment was also confirmed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in a statement that read: “The Board of Directors of Zenith Bank Pl is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Juliet Ehimuan as a Non-Executive Director of the Bank effective August 29, 2023. Accordingly, this has been confirmed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).”
This is taking place after of Dr. Ehimuan’s resignation from Google two months ago, where she served as the company’s first West Africa Director. She has expressed her intention to explore a broader role within the regional technology landscape after her 12-year journey with Google on her LinkedIn profile.
The Dr. is looking forward to leveraging her experience and expertise to further enhance the technology ecosystem in the region. While at Google, Dr. Ehimuan spearheaded significant initiatives, including the inaugural Google for Africa event in 2012. Held in Lagos, Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai announced at the event that the company is committed to training 10 million Africans in digital skills, supporting the development of 100,000 developers in web and mobile development, and launching a Google for Startups accelerator for Africa.
Dr. Ehimuan founded and is the CEO of CEO of Beyond Limits, a tech-driven company that aims to push the boundaries of innovation. Forbes recognized her influence by naming her one of the top 20 power women in Africa. She has had a great impact that has been acknowledged by institutions like the London Business School, which selected her as one of 30 people changing the world. She has also been recognized as one of the Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD).
