Mango Airways, South Africa’s low-cost airline is struggling to pay its debt to Airports Company South Africa (ACSA). As a result, all of its flights were suspended from the nation’s airports earlier on in the week.
Not a single ground staff member was seen from Mango Airlines on Wednesday morning at the Cape Town International Airport as all flights were cancelled.
Mango Airlines released an official statement from their twitter account for both the media and their consumers confirming that all services and flights were temporarily suspended for Wednesday only due to outstanding payments to ACSA.
It further went on, commenting on some of the responses they received from their consumers assuring them that its operations will resume back to normal from Thursday, 29th April 2021 and onwards. Mango Airlines has entered into payment agreement with ACSA, to ensure that it’s flights will not be disrupted once again till month end of April 2021. There is no clarity surrounding the agreement between Mango Airlines and ACSA.
