South Africa’s telecommunication network operator Cell C, is planning on relaunching it brand in mid-August.
Rebranding is one strategic step that most companies take to refresh their image, stay competitive, and align with charging consumer preferences. The telecommunications industry is where creativity and customer-focused ideas are important, and the Cell C Network Operator has begun its rebranding process.
Created in 2001, Cell C has grown to be one of the leading mobile network operators in South Africa. By focusing on providing affordable and reliable telecommunications service, Cell C has gained a loyal customer base throughout the years.
As the telecommunication industry continues to have competition, Cell C seems to always recognize the need to reposition and try to stay ahead while meeting the demands of the consumers.
However, this is not Cell C’s first-time rebranding.
It was back in 2001 when the logo of Cell C had black and white text on a red background with a tag that said, “C for yourself”. The brand lasted till May 2010 and went with a different look for its logo by putting the letter C in a circle.
This is where the company took the colours of the South African flag and changed their tagline to “The power is in your hands”. It was then in 2018 that Cell C decided to change its brand once again from the black and white logo with the multicoloured underline, to the orange background with a new font.
No further details about the rebranding have been announced, as the company plans to reveal them at an event.
