The South African mobile banking company that provides bank accounts, debit and credit cards using an app in association with Bidvest Bank, Spot Money has launched a new Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO).
This new MVNO was created by Spot Money founders Sean and Don Bergsma and Andre Hugo in an effort to offer innovative services for the telecommunications industry consumers.
With a focus on the customers and strategic partnership, Spot Money is aiming to grow in a competitive market. MVNOS do not need to invest in creating and maintaining network infrastructure as they are there to offer competitive prices with flexible plans without the same investment required like traditional MNOs.
MVNOS are rivals that are here to bring diversity and spark to the market which is dominated by big players in the telecom market. Some similar MVOs are FNB Connect, Capitec Connect, Mr. Price Mobile, PnP Mobile and Standard Bank Mobile.
The community manager for Spot Money, Musa Nyangiwe shared that they chose Cell C to be their network provider as they have a large network coverage, reliable service as well as their competitive prices.
Nyangiwe also mentioned that data and airtime in South Africa are ranked as expensive in the Africa. This where they decided that they could do more to help the citizens of South Africa by making their money work for them, in building and affordable solution with Spot Mobile.
