Value-added distributor (VAD) Westcon, has signed a worldwide distribution agreement with Titus, a data-protection firm and expert in data classification.
The agreement further strengthens the VAD’s next generation solutions (NGS) offering, adding a global provider in data identification and classification to its vendor portfolio.
According to Westcon, it recently increased its go-to-market engagement with a number of emerging technology vendors, moving forward in supporting the channel to combat the ever-evolving and continually changing cyber threats to business.
The company said with the ease at which large amounts of data can be shared via email, digital media and cloud apps, organisations are facing a growing risk of sensitive data breaches.
Daniel Hurel, vice president, EMEA, Cyber Security and Next Gen Solutions at Westcon, said: “This agreement with Titus will give us a good opportunity to help our partners strengthen their cyber security offerings. It will enable them to offer the help and support required to remain best placed to be one step ahead of cyber security trends.”
Hurel added that with Titus, organisations can navigate the complex reality of keeping their most critical data identified and secured in the face of the ever-increasing amount of data being shared digitally and a surge in global data privacy legislation. “Any DLP project should start with data identification and classification, and that’s why the solution from Titus is crucial to success,” he noted. “We believe that this partnership will be beneficial to both parties involved as well as to our global network of partners. Due to our expertise in this sector, we can work with Titus to help maintain its strong position within the data security market.”
Sebastien Roques, EMEA vice president sales, Titus, said: “We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with Westcon to grow our presence. Titus shares Westcon’s focus on enhancing the success of its business partners to deliver solutions that help customers identify and secure their sensitive data while meeting regulatory compliance.”
Roques said Titus is looking forward to the opportunity to provide organisations throughout the region with the ability to build a strong data security strategy by adding context and identifying sensitive data with full traceability and auditing.
