Take Note Group of Companies Launches “Empower Her Future” Campaign to Champion Women in Cybersecurity
In a commendable effort to start to close the gender gap in the tech industry, the Take Note Group of Companies has launched the “Empower Her Future campaign, an inspiring new initiative aimed at uplifting and enrolling young women into the fast-growing world of cybersecurity and information technology.
Breaking Down Barriers to Entry
The campaign has been spearheaded by Mamela Luthuli, Founder and CEO of Take Note, and looks to directly tackle two critical challenges facing South Africa’s digital economy:
- The barriers to entry for young women in tech
- And the alarming shortage of women in cybersecurity roles.
This initiative is a natural extension of the work being done by Take Note Academy, which is committed to reshaping access to tech education by making it more inclusive, dynamic, and accessible.
Fully Sponsored Learning Opportunity
As part of the campaign, the Empower Her Future competition was launched across the country, inviting young women to apply for a fully sponsored opportunity to study at the Academy.
In this first round, two outstanding young women have been selected to join the programme—marking a
meaningful and powerful start to what is envisioned as a long-term movement for change.
Creating Sustainable Impact
“We’re not waiting for permission to transform this industry,” says Mamela. “We saw a problem—the glaring lack of access for women in cybersecurity—and we created a solution that is both sustainable and impactful.”
A multi-award-winning entrepreneur, Mamela Luthuli has earned wide recognition across the continent for her innovation and leadership. However she says that her passion remains deeply rooted in community transformation, youth empowerment, and helping to build a digitally secure, inclusive future for South Africa.
Take Note’s Academy is aiming to be more than just another training institution, they are looking to become a pipeline for real transformation in the tech space according to a statement released by the company today.
With more campaigns like Empower Her Future rising up in the African Tech spaces, there is the opportunity to not only close gaps in the lack of development opportunities for young women in tech, but is also actively opening doors for the next generation of women leaders in technology.
