Epson has appointed Junkichi Yoshida as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, marking a pivotal shift as the company enters the final year of its current strategic vision, Epson 25 Renewed. Yoshida succeeds Yasunori Ogawa, who will transition to the role of Chairman of the Board. This leadership change is part of Epson’s efforts to accelerate the construction of a robust management foundation and lay the groundwork for the next phase of its long-term corporate strategy.
Yasunori Ogawa, who has led Epson since 2020, guided the company through a period of global upheaval, including the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Under his leadership, Epson reinforced its commitment to sustainability and digital transformation while strengthening its dedication to innovation and environmental responsibility.
Reflecting on his transition to Chairman and the end of the Epson 25 Renewed strategy, Ogawa noted, “The 2025 fiscal year, which begins on April 1st, marks the final year of our current strategic corporate vision. It will also be a critical year for developing the next strategic corporate vision to drive future growth. It is essential for the next generation to take the lead in formulating and executing the strategies that will shape Epson’s future.”
Junkichi Yoshida: A Proven Leader for Epson’s Next Phase
Yoshida, who has been with Epson for 37 years, brings extensive experience and a deep understanding of the company’s technology, global markets, and operations. Throughout his career, Yoshida has played a key role in expanding Epson’s presence in the Americas and Asia, driving both business and product strategies across regions.
Notably, Yoshida led Epson’s Printing Solutions division, where he oversaw the achievement of a major milestone: the sale of more than 100 million high-capacity ink tank printers. He also played a crucial role in the acquisition of Fiery, a strategic move that strengthened Epson’s digital printing solutions portfolio.
Speaking about his new role, Yoshida emphasised the strengths that have propelled Epson to success over the years: “Epson has built tremendous strengths, including our efficient, compact, and precise technologies, vertical manufacturing capabilities, and global network. These elements are the foundation of our innovations, such as Micro Piezo printheads. I want us to take greater pride in our brand, build deeper customer trust, and continue driving sustainable business growth to enhance our corporate value.”
