Apple plans on to produce 85 million units of iPhone 15 this year, which is in line with last year, according to reports. The Cupertino, California-based company aims to keep the shipment steady amid the faltering global economy and decline of the smartphone market.
According to a source, Apple plans to increase the price for Pro models which is likely to increase revenue.
Earlier this month Apple’s market capitalisation breached the $ 3 trillion mark for the first time since January 2022. The investors banked on Apple’s ability to grow its revenue even as it explores new markets such as virtual reality.
The iPhone’s sales did extremely well during the second quarter and the introduction of new products including the Vision Pro in June show the tech giant’s resiliency in an uncertain economy.
The company this year had to decrease its number by two million for entry-level phones due to production challenges with CMOS image sensors which ended up adding orders for higher-priced Pro models according to a source.
