TP- Link, a global provider of SOHO and SMB networking products has announced plans to grow its channel partner base in the Middle East, as part of a wider strategy to develop the networking business in the region.
The company said the move to expand the regional channel partner base comes at a time when the networking segment across the Middle East is booming with most countries in the region rolling out 4G networks.
The company said it is growing rapidly in the Middle East and consequently, needs to strengthen its partner ecosystem across the region.
Denny Liang, general manager, TP- Link Middle East, said the plan to expand the partner base will see the company recruit new resellers, solution providers and systems integrators in conjunction with all the existing distributor partners. “The company has made huge strides to raise brand awareness at channel and end-user level. We have also continued to provide high quality products, technical support and services to channel partners and their end-user customers,” he said.
Liang said the boom being witnessed in the networking sector in the region is creating more opportunities for resellers as the desire to have Internet and WiFi connectivity in every home is what today’s consumers are looking for in the Middle East. “I believe this is our opportunity and together with the entire regional team, we have the responsibility to provide the best experiences to channel partners and consumers through the broadened products we provide to the market,” he said.
The company is also planning to increase the business in the SMB sector. “We believe we have a compelling set of SMB products and solutions in the market today. We want our partners to grow along with us and increase their share of TP- Link offerings in the market,” he added.
Liang explained that TP- Link is expanding its channel partner base in the Middle East not only for wholesalers, but is also engaging systems integrators and Internet service providers (ISPs). “We have partnered with Batelco to work with us this year. We are expecting more ISPs and SIs to come on board,” he said.
He pointed out that other than the weekly training programmes offered to channel partners under the umbrella TP- Link Partner Program, the company is also planning to invite a select number of qualified partners later this year to visit and see the company’s manufacturing process at the headquarters in China. “We want our partners to understand the production and manufacturing processes of our offerings. We believe this will give them confidence to continue working with us for the long term,” he said.
