Huawei has recently announced its brand new 100W GaN charger, which is a Huawei All-in-one Multi-Port charger.
The charger features a white plastic casing and a foldable pin for easy transport. It also consists of a dual channel current distribution design and gallium nitride (GaN) technology, which offers efficiency in a small size.
GaN technology refers to the use of gallium nitride in a semiconductor device that allows fast charging speed and increased power efficiency, unlike traditional silicon chargers.
Using GaN charging devices delivers high power outputs in a smaller and lighter designs, reducing energy loss and making GaN chargers a popular choice for tech enthusiasts.
The charger has both USB-A and USB-C ports joined together, which Huawei is calling a fusion interface. A dedicated extra USB-C port accompanies it. This also means the charger offers 100W output from a single port. The charger is compatible with a wide range of devices, making it an essential accessory for tech-savvy individuals.
By using both ports at the same time, it can offer four different combinations to it such as:
- 88W Max (USB-A/C1) plus 18W Max (USB-C2),
- 66W Max (USB-A/C1) plus 40W Max (USB-C2),
- 40W Max (USB-A/C1) plus 66W Max (USB-C2), and
- 18W Max (USB-A/C1) plus 88W (USB-C2).
Unlike the previous SuperPower wall charger model which offered 88W, the new 100W model is a big improvement.
