Day2 of the Black Friday week, presented a complete turn-around from Day1, with both value and volume of sales up compared to 2023, according to the Ecentric Black Friday Dashboard.
The average sales per hour were slightly lower than Monday with the highest being in the 184 000 transactions per hour that occurred between the lunch time shopping hour of 12H00 and 13H00 yesterday.
Total transaction volume for the 26th November was 1,7 million transactions processed compared to around 1,6 on Monday (25th Nov), with the largest single transaction for the day hitting an incredible R1,9 million.
The average transaction value however remained fairly low at R451, with an average of 1222 transaction per minute processed over the day, and the total value processed yesterday lower that that of Monday.
Value of Transactions Up Compared to 2023
The value of transactions processed yesterday were up by 129% compared to the comparable Tuesday in 2023, although this was lower than the value of transactions processed on Monday, with 6,4% lower value yesterday in total.
Volume of Transactions Up Compared to 2023
Volume of transactions processed yesterday were also up a significantly by 119% compared to the comparable Tuesday in 2023.
