Johannesburg:
The event was correctly named “Time to Go Big” and TCL certainly did a fine job of that for the press at their official launch at the Leonardo Hotel in Sandton.
The hype around the TCL Mini-QLED products was not exaggerated at all, and the massive flagship 115” MAX certainly delivered on its promised impact creating a lot of buzz and interest.
It is not surprising that the leading large screen manufacturer in the world won 22 German iF design awards and 12 Red Dot design awards in 2023 with the 115” Max wining the 2023 Edge award.
The Advanced QD-Mini LED technology, that combines the use of TCL’s patented, six-crystal light emitting chip, together with their halo control technology, delivers incredible picture clarity not found in any other TV brands today. The TV delivers 20 000 dimming zones and 50 million colour variations and together with the AiPQ processor, optimises the contrast, colour clarity and adaptive motion to provide unmatched picture quality.
The end result is an incredible immersive viewing experience that will leave your jaw dropping.
One of the key differences is that the TCL tech is also focussed on providing comprehensive eye care with MEMC reducing image shaking, anti-blue-light resistance. Dual Hybrid dimming and is ambient light adaptive, allowing clear viewing even in areas with higher levels of light.
Apart from the giant 115” MAX, there are several other models that also took centre stage:
- X955 Premium QD-Mini LED (98” & 85”) with 5184 Local dimming Zones
- C855 Premium QD Mini-LED TV (98”, 85”, 75”, 65”) with 2304 dimming zones
- C755 Premium QD Mini-LED TV (98”, 85”, 75”, 65”, 55”) with 1344 dimming zones
All of these come standard with an advanced ONKYO sound system to provide a truly exciting and immersive viewing experience.
What is unmistakable about the TCL philosophy is the desire to enhance peoples lifestyle and advance health and to provide advance tech products that provide convenience. TCl has certainly showed its commitment to the SA market and has expanded its distribution network to included Makro, Game and Pick- n- Pay and have their own Takealot channel providing some really decent deals. The pricing of their TV range is very competitive with the large 115” Max priced at R399 999 and going down to R6999 for their 43-inch P755 4K UHD Google TV model.
The audience were also introduced to a connected future that TCL is driving, where the television would be connected to various other home devices such as air-conditioning and lighting and would act as a central voice activated hub for the devices via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connectivity, giving a glimpse of what the future of connectivity in the home might look like.
