FlySafair has claimed the title of the most punctual low-cost carrier globally, according to Cirium’s latest On-Time Performance Review. The study, analyzing over 30 million flights annually, considers flights that arrive within 14 minutes and 59 seconds of their scheduled arrival as on time.
FlySafair achieved an on-time performance of 92.36%, outshining other carriers.
Cirium’s William Boulter emphasized that on-time performance is crucial for airlines, impacting customer perception, cost management, environmental impact, network design, and soft issues like crew morale.
“On-time performance is core to the running of a successful airline, and the good ones take it very seriously indeed – not only does OTP impact customer perception, but also cost management, environmental impact, network design and even soft issues like crew morale, which will again influence customer experience,” says Boulter.
Additionally, Cape Town International Airport secured recognition as the fifth most punctual small airport globally.
