The German enterprise software giant SAP, has replaced Cathy Smith and appointed Kholiwe Makhohliso as the managing director to lead its Southern African operation.
Kholiwe Makhohliso is a seasoned tech exec, who has worked with a German software company, which was , Software AG. The newly appointed MD has over has 20 years of experience in the technology industry working for the likes of Accenture and Oracle.
Starting her career as an auditor, Makhohliso has experience in working both in the private and public sector roles. Her most recent role is that of being an MD for Software AG in South Africa.
She is also chair the Sparrow Trust, which a non-profit organisation working to provide young, disadvantaged South African youth with education and learning opportunities.
Makhohliso may have an easier time leading SAP in the region than Smith, who had to help clean up the mess left behind by the previous management team following a public sector corruption scandal.
