Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) has introduced the new GR Supra GT4 EVO2 an evolution of its successful GT4 race car.
The first GR Supra GT4 was first launched in 2020 where it gained attraction in the racing world and sold globally with over 120 units. The model has an impressive track record, where it has secured victories GT4 series races around 11 countries and regions.
The new model has made promises for improved performance, reliability and a better driving experience, which will make it one of the competitors for next year. The GR Supra GT4 EVO2 is designed with a driver-first approach with updates that include a re-tuned ABS maps for efficient braking and cornering.
The adjustments come with different tyre types and track conditions, allows for better control and stability and the software updates have tunned the rev-matching system, where it reduces downshifting time and improved detection control during braking, which increases cornering speed.
The cooling system for the engine, brakes and the drivetrain have also been updated, as well as the cockpit including an improved temperature management. These improvements not only boost the vehicles performance under difficult conditions it also makes it more comfortable for the drivers.
The GT4 EVO2 is powered by a 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder engine with a single twin-scroll turbocharger that produces 600 N.m of torque. It is paired with an upgraded 7-speed ZF automatic transmission that features paddle shifters. The size of the GT4 EVO2 is 4,460 mm in length and the 1,855 in width and comes with a steel/aluminum body with a FIA-standard high-strength roll cage.
The GR Supra GT4 EVO2 will make its mark at the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge in January 2025 and will be happening together with the 24 Hours of Daytona. While pricing has been revealed at €202,000 (R4,002,537.08), details about its global availability and cost will be announced soon.
