The establishment of the joint venture of Sanlam and Allianz has shown a spark in Ghana’s insurance industry.
It was in September 2023, that SanlamAllianz revealed that it is a pan African non-banking financial service structure with the presences of being in 27 countries within the African continent, and with 80 entities serving 30 million clients with over 100,000 employees in Africa.
This launch came after the regulatory approvals for their collaboration and its rebranding operations in Ghana. Heinie Werth, the CEO of SanlamAllianz shares that the introduction of the brand in Ghana marks a change and an achievement where it shows dedication to the Ghanian market, as well as their goal of creating top businesses in key economies.
The people who will be leading the venture in the country are Tawaih Ben-Ahmed who is the CEO and MD (Managing Director) of SanlamAllianz life insurance in Ghana and Mabel Nana Nyarkoa Porbely as the CEO and MD of SanlamAllianz general insurance Ghana.
Both insurance companies are aware of the insurance sector. Sanlam is a big player in South Africa, and it will contribute vast knowledge and skills, while Allianz from Germany which is a leading global entity, which will share its unique international mix to the joint venture.
The joint venture stands as a beacon in Ghana’s insurance sector whereby it has a commitment in innovation, customer centric solutions, and sustainable growth.
