Imagine you’re a young creative professional who needs a device that will be both a laptop and a tablet when you need one. Imagine having a two in one device that is lightweight, thin and offers you a world of experiences in the palm of your hands.
Before opening the device, let’s see what features we can see from just looking at the laptop. The first thing I observed was the steel finish. To the left, is a power output, USB 3,1 gen 1 type C port, HDMI port and a USB port. To the right is an audio jack, USB type A port and a K-lock. Equipped with all the features you will need.
Let’s get into the laptop.
The display is a metal design with a matte interior and smooth lid with a touch style finish. The 13,3-inch display ensures the picture quality is high. The laptop screen is glossy and shows reflections and fingerprints.
Shall we get into the best part about the laptop, or should we save that till the end? Let’s save it for the end.
For a creative’s dream, this device has a nice camera quality. The keyboard is smooth and has white back lighting which is really cool. The touch pad has a single click on the bottom right to right click or two finger clicks to right click. There is also a fingerprint scanner at the top left corner. It’s great to see what kinds of technological advancements are included here to ensure that your device is safe.
At the back of the laptop are air exhaust vents to prevent it from overheating. It has two rubber feet at the bottom to prevent it from moving around surfaces. Now, the sound. The laptop comes with two speakers on each side which give a more holistic listening experience.
Okay okay okay, now the best part. Remember how I said it can become a laptop and a tablet? Well, this device folds from laptop to tablet. Yes, it does the whole 360, like a convertible. I think we all deserve a device that can twist and fold when we need it to. It makes life that much easier when you have a lightweight device that adapts to your needs.
It’s prefect for drawing your graphics with the active stylus built in pen. The screen-pen combination works with pressure sensitivity which caters to your drawing needs. Don’t worry about how much pressure to place because the pen’s writing thickens based on the amount of pressure placed in it. So, the lighter you press the screen, the lighter your lines will be. The harder you press, the darker your lines will be. Careful not to damage the screen.
You can already see yourself snuggled in a comfortable corner drawing your life away on this portable device that lives on 14 hours of battery life. That should be enough time to catch up on the latest series and movies.
And if memory is something you are worried about then worry no more as the Acer 5 spin comes with 16 GB of memory. That’s value for money.
Now that you have the basic information about this amazing convertible device, would you buy it?
If so, head over to Acer stores for more information regarding the Acer Aspire 5 Spin and test it out for yourself.
For the almost R20 000 asking price, I’d say it’s worth it.
