New World Wind, a French company, has introduced the Aeroleaf wind tree which is a new form of sustainable energy, resembling wind and solar systems.
This new technology aims to surpass traditional solar panels, which may be considered unattractive and less effective in urban and rural environments. The Aeroleaf wind tree is the first of its kind to produce clean and free electricity in the form of a tree-like structure.
Under the leaves are petals equipped with effective photovoltaic cells, transforming the Aeroleaf Hybrid into a dual wind and solar energy producer. The design allows an easy portability, allowing users to choose whether to use the attached solar panels.
Currently, 130 Aeroleaf wind trees from New World Wind are now installed in Europe, North America, South America, Africa, and Asia, indicating a growing customer demand for advanced renewable energy technologies.
One blade can generate 1000 kWh once a year, resulting in a total output of 36,000 kWh for a Wind Tree with 36 blades when exposed to a wind speed of 12m/s. Nevertheless, it’s important to note that wind conditions may not always be advantageous throughout the year.
Different versions of the Aeroleaf wind tree are available for this project, including various forms.
- The Wind Tree: The largest model, consists of three steel trunks and three Aeroleafs, totalling 36 pieces capable of generating 10.8 kW. This makes it perfect for large families and companies as it can accommodate all 20 to 25 people it needs to serve.
- The Modular Tree: Offers the most options, with the choice to have between 3 and 5 trunks and 18 to 30 Aeroleafs, providing a power range between 4 kW and 9 kW. This version is adaptable for different needs.
- Wind Bush: A smaller and less crowded model has 12 Aeroleafs and 16 solar panels with a 4.2 kW capacity, ideal for small communities and neighbourhoods.
- The Lotus: The smallest option available, is equipped with 12 Aeroleafs and can carry up to 3 people. With a power output of 6 kW, this equipment is perfect for smaller areas like a backyard or driveway, where a larger machine would not be necessary.

New World Wind offers a variety of choices for customizing the trunks, branches, and leaves of the Aeroleaf wind tree to blend with their surroundings or match a brand’s colour scheme and logo. Other accessories fit into the wind tree structure, including lamps made of LEDs or charging points for electric cars.
