The Touring Superleggera has returned to The Quail showcasing the new Veloce12, a restomod that is inspired by the iconic Ferrari 550 Maranello, combining modern elements for an elegant upgrade.
Under the hood, the Veloce12 has an upgraded 5.5-litre V12 engine, generating 372 kW surpassing the original output of 359 kW. Regardless of the increase, the torque remains the same which is 568 N.m. It has a six-speed manual transmission, ensuring that the driving experience stays true to its roots.
The Veloce12 body is constructed form a lightweight carbon fibre, that replaces the aluminum and steel, which not only improves the performance but modernizes the vehicles appearance. The front and back light cluster have been redesigned which sets it apart from its predecessor. The chassis have been revamped to go with its enhanced performance capabilities.
The vehicle features a bespoke aftermarket exhaust system, which adds a distinctive sound. It comes with new Brembo brake calipers with six pistons at the front and four pistons at the back to improve braking efficiency. The TracTive suspension with adjustable damping, ensures that it handles like sports car while retaining the classic GT appeal.
The cabin comes with handmade leather interior with machine-finished controls and dials elegantly placed at the center of the dashboard, with no touchscreen. Touring stated that the materials of the Veloce12 were from Italy. It features custom leather seats created for comfort and support during long trips.
The cost of this vehicle stands at 690,000 EUR (R13,652,381.48), not including the cost of the donor car.
