Audi is gearing up to release its two new electric models that will be available in 2025.
The Audi A6 and S6 Sportback e-tron have joined the Porshe Macan EV and the Audi Q6 e-tron SUVs, as the first cars to use Volkswagen Group’s new Premium Platform Electric (PPE). Audi plans on stopping the manufacturing of all gas fueled cars by the beginning of 2030, therefore these electric models are important in Audi’s lineup.
The Audi A6 e-tron will come with the option of either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive system. While the S6 e-tron will only offer the latter option.
Using the rear-wheel drive, a single motor can power the rear axle with a maximum of 362 horsepower, while reaching 0-60 mph in 5.2 seconds. Adding all-wheel drive will include a dual-motor setup rate at a maximum 422hp, enough to reach 0-60mph in 4.3 seconds. The maximum speed will be limited to 130mph for both setups for the A6 e-tron.
The S6 e-tron will come with a dual-motor powertrain that can produce 496hp, which can slightly increase to 543 hp with the use of launch control. It is said that the S6 e-tron will accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 3.7 seconds with the launch control. The maximum speed is limited to 149 mph.
The interior of the Audi A6 can comfortably sits five passengers and includes top-notch materials, along with leather seats and heated front seats that can be adjusted with power. The option to have a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, and heated rear seats is also offered.
The backseat area is standard for this category: Suitable for two adults and cramped for three. The car’s trunk size is average at 13.7 cubic feet, which is more spacious than the Cadillac CT5-V’s small 11.9 cubic feet.
The interior of the S6 has modern design features with fine materials, soft leather, and genuine wood trim, showcasing its quality. Other features include four-zone automatic climate control, a power adjustable ambient lighting, diamond-stitched leather upholstery, and 12-way power adjustable heated front seats. The top spec Prestige trim includes the Extended Leather package, which covers the dashboard, armrest, and center console in leather.
