Westcon-Comstor announced a deeper strategic collaboration with Microsoft to accelerate digital transformation across Sub-Saharan Africa. The announcement took place at the Westcon Microsoft Partner Summit 2025 in Johannesburg, where industry leaders, executives, and partners gathered to explore how technology continues to reshape regional business models.
As organisations face mounting competition and rapid technological change, the summit emphasised the urgent need to modernise. Consequently, cloud adoption, artificial intelligence (AI), and strengthened security emerged as central themes. For Westcon-Comstor, reinforcing its Microsoft alliance means empowering partners to thrive in this evolving landscape with tailored solutions that address diverse business needs.
Evolving Partnerships
The relationship between Westcon-Comstor and Microsoft is not new, rather, it has steadily expanded over time. Both companies share a vision for Africa’s digital future and continue to invest in Microsoft-focused capabilities. In doing so, Westcon-Comstor positions itself as a “transformation distributor” rather than a traditional supplier. Moreover, it equips partners with resources, expertise, and guidance required to achieve sustainable growth in a cloud- and AI-driven economy.
“Transformation should be the core focus for all partners operating in an AI, cloud, and software-first world,” said Louise Taute, Managing Director of Westcon-Comstor Southern Africa. She further explained that the collaboration with Microsoft helps partners design transformation journeys tailored to their unique strategies, ensuring growth that is measurable and sustainable.
Microsoft’s FY26 Priorities

At the summit, Microsoft outlined its FY26 strategic priorities, which create major opportunities for African partners. These include embedding AI into workflows to enhance productivity, enabling modernisation and migration through Azure and AI platforms, and strengthening security as the foundation for trusted transformation.
Elaine Van Der Plank, Senior Partner Development Manager at Microsoft Africa, stressed that partnerships remain central to Microsoft’s mission. “Our partner ecosystem is more than a network it is a force multiplier for innovation. Together with Westcon-Comstor, we are enabling transformation that empowers communities, strengthens industries, and supports inclusive economic growth,” she said.
Building the Future Together
Unlike traditional distributors, Westcon-Comstor embraces a partner-first approach. Therefore, it co-designs transformation journeys and helps partners simplify Microsoft’s vast ecosystem. By investing in enablement, compliance guidance, and digital distribution tools, the company ensures that partners convert challenges around AI, cloud, migration, and security into long-term opportunities.
