Westcon-Comstor, a global technology provider and specialist distributor, today announced that as part of a transformative move, the company will be relocating its Midrand facility to a new modern office space within the Waterfall Precinct. The move forms part of a strategic commitment to align its physical space with a business strategy focused on collaboration, sustainability and digital distribution.
As the distribution space continues to evolve, Westcon-Comstor continues to lead the way in transforming how IT distribution is viewed on a global stage. The company led the way in developing digital distribution best practices and is now on the next phase of its journey, which will see the optimisation and automation of its logistical operations.
“Our move might not be a huge geographical leap, as the new Southern African Head Office will be a stone’s throw away from the current facilities, but it is a transformative one as we ensure improved accessibility and enhanced facilities,” says Louise Taute, Managing Director at Westcon-Comstor Southern Africa. “Quintessentially, the new offices will deliver better collaborative spaces and allow us to meet our global sustainability goals while creating an environment that will allow us to engage our partners better.
“In addition, as we strive to be an employer of choice, it will provide our teams with a more vibrant and fulfilling workspace. The new offices are packed with a host of amenities and services that promote a better workplace while delivering on the modern requirement for work-life balance,” adds Taute.
The move will be undertaken in a phased approach designed to ensure no to very little disruption. The first of which includes the optimisation and automation of its local logistical operations, which is already underway. The second phase, scheduled for October, will see the team relocate to a temporary facility within its new building while the new offices are being built.
According to Taute, the very nature of the company’s digital evolution, which includes partner tools like PartnerCentral, its multivendor digital marketplace, has laid the groundwork for such a move to be possible. By accessing this partner marketplace, partners have 100% control over their business 24/7 and can buy and manage technology, initiate RMAs, check stock, browse the vendor portfolio of products, generate quotes, automate orders, manage customers and renewals, explore training options, and get unique business and industry insights.
“Our industry is so dynamic that if you aren’t thinking ahead, you have already been left behind. This move is just part of a broader transformation strategy at Westcon-Comstor. One which we believe will improve our relationships with our partners, modernise how we deliver our services, better serve our staff and customers, and enable us to be a more sustainable corporate citizen,” ends Taute.
From the new offices within the Waterfall precinct, staff and partners can take advantage of easy access to public transportation, proximity to a variety of shops and services, and modern amenities designed to support our dynamic work environment.
