The Egyptian fintech-driven B2B digital platform revolutionising the pharmaceutical supply chain, Grinta has managed to extend its reach within the country by acquiring Alexandria-based online pharmacy, Auto-Cure.
The company is a regulated marketplace that revitalizes the pharmaceutical supply chain by empowering independent pharmacies. Founded in 2021 by Mohamed Azab, Yosra Badr, Ali Youssef, and Hamza Mohamed, Grinta provides access to a complete array of traceable pharmaceutical and medical products alongside services like fulfillment, demand forecasting, and inventory finance through its comprehensive end-to-end platform.
With the intention to establish a data-centric, reliable, and efficient pharmaceutical supply chain, the company is fostering collaboration among all stakeholders throughout the value chain. That means producers, distributors, wholesalers, and pharmacies.
Previously, Grinta secured an $8 million seed round, subsequently acquiring Auto-Cure, a B2B e-commerce platform catering to independent pharmacies based in Alexandria. The company’s CEO Mohamed Azab emphasized that the acquisition of Auto-Cure showcases Grinta’s commitment to providing value to its clients and strengthening its footprint in the Egyptian market.
Since it was established back in 2021, Grinta has acquired two other enterprises: EME, a software development firm, and PH Store, a comparable digital platform based in northern Egypt. This strategic expansion has enabled the company to make significant headway, spanning nine governorates within Egypt. During this time, Grinta has successfully facilitated the delivery of over 200,000 items and served more than 7,000 pharmacies.
“We are excited about our collaboration with Grinta; our shared commitment to digital transformation and customer satisfaction has motivated us to become part of Grinta’s exceptional team. This partnership will not only extend our presence in Alexandria but also across the Middle East and Africa,” stated Mohamed Rezk, Auto-Cure’s founder and CEO. He further emphasized, “We’ve opened up a realm of opportunities.”
In the past 18 months, Auto-Cure has served 450 pharmacies and successfully processed and dispatched 5,000 orders.
