South African mobile telecommunications operator, Cell C, has also rung changes in its staff with the appointment of a new Chief Financial Officer, Lerato Pule.
Pule joins the company as she succeeds Zafar Mahomed and her appointment will come into effect on Thursday, September 1.
Cell C released a brief statement according to a report by ITWeb, saying as the recapitalisation is almost complete, Mahomed will move on to new business opportunities.
Representing the Midrand-based telecomms company, CEO Douglas Craigie Stevenson said Mahomed was successful in assisting the company navigate complex transactions.
“Over the last three years, Zaf Mahomed assisted us in successfully navigating a complex transaction to de-leverage the balance sheet as part of our turnaround strategy,” he said.
“We thank Zaf for his contribution during a very critical phase of Cell C’s journey and wish him all the best as he pursues new opportunities. He is ready for his next challenge.”
The outgoing CFO also expressed gratitude to the company for a glorious opportunity, especially to Stevenson and the company’s stakeholders.
“Pule joined the leadership team earlier this year to ensure a smooth handover and will play an important role as Cell C evolves to chart a new course to become a digital lifestyle company, the company says,” said the website.
Just before moving to the mobile operator, Pule occupied the same role for Telkom’s SME segment and she is a qualified chartered accountant.
Pule holds a BCom Honours in Accounting and boasts more than a decade of know-how in financial and business management at an operational and strategic level in various organisations.
