A new Joburg burger spot/restaurant has just been named one of the best in the world. In a recent list published by Business Tech, a new ranking of some of the best burger restaurants around the world saw this Joburg joint’s name being ranked as one of the world’s best.
The ranking is based on the views of a number of Michelin-stars chefs and other culinary elites who handpicked the restaurants based on their preferences.
The majority of the list is made up of restaurants in the US and Europe with both casual restaurants such as In-N-Out and high-end establishments such as The Wolseley in London featuring and so far, only one South African restaurant was named on the list.
What a time to be alive we have to admit, South Africa’s very own Buns Out definitely made a huge changeover in history books by landing on the list.
The most shocking yet amazing thing about this phenomenon is that Buns Out Burgers only opened in September 2019 in Johannesburg.
Chosen by TV chef Lorna Maseko, Bloomberg noted that the new restaurant in suburban Linden is the first of actor and TV celebrity, Maps Maponyane.
It’s no secret that Buns Out’s variety of burgers -including vegetarian and vegan options has attracted a lot of media attention, which is why Bloomberg ranked it as one of the best restaurants in the world.
Buns Out Burgers also features a number of quirky names including ‘Is It Brie You’re Looking For?’
