There is a new groundbreaking combination of technology and personal companionship, which offers users a unique and innovative way to enhance their daily lives. Introducing the AI “Friend” Necklace.
Avi Schiffmann, a Harvard dropout is known for creating an award-winning website to track COVID-19, is currently developing an AI device called “Friend”. The neck-worn device is meant to be seen as a friend just as the name implies.
The AI “Friend” has features of advanced AI algorithms and has machine learning capabilities which allows it to evolve and adjust based on the users’ preferences. The necklace can provide recommendations and help that suit the users’ specific requirements.
The device is simply a slim layer that links to your phone through Bluetooth and always listens to you. “Friend” will send an in-app reaction to your message and can also send a proactive message since it always listens to you. The only issue with “Friend” is that it currently supports only Apple iOS devices.
“Friend” creator, Avi Schiffmann shared a video on X on the 30th of July 2024, showing how the device works. Mr Schiffmann mentioned that upcoming editions might have cameras for the AI” Friend” to respond to the wearer’s environment.
The necklace will cost $99 (R1,805.36) and will officially launch in January 2025.
With its personalized features, consideration, and future developments, the AI “Friend” Necklace shows the innovative possibilities that lie ahead in the journey of wearable technology.
